Bay Area Anxiety Solutions uses an evidence-based approach to treatment integrating the most up-to-date psychological science. The Institute of Medicine (IOM, 2001) defines evidence-based practice (EBP) as an intervention that combines the following factors: (1) best research evidence; (2) best clinical experience; (3) consistent with patient values.
Theoretically, our practice has a strong foundation in behaviorism that guides our approach to case conceptualization and approach to treatment. With regard to specific empirically-supported psychotherapeutic interventions, we possess significant experience with Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), particularly treating anxiety- and obsessive-compulsive-related disorders.
